Adult Congenital Heart Disease Sessions at the American Heart Association Annual Scientific Sessions: 2008

The AHA 2008 Scientific Sessions in New Orleans has an exciting program directed at ACHD caregivers.

Note: ISACHD will be holding its biannual North American "Scientific Sessions: Updates, Planning and Society Business" breakfast meeting for members and perspective members on

Meeting will begin at 0730 (doors open 30 minutes earlier at 0700 for breakfast), with meeting time scheduled for one hour max, so as to be able to reach the 0900 Scientific Sessions at the Convention Center. Meeting agenda will soon be posted, but will include key proposals and updates regarding ACHD progress across the globe.

Note: ISACHD is co-sponsoring an additional academic session on Monday (see below) with the Councils for Clinical Cardiology, and Cardiovascular Disease in the Young. Please attend BOTH the breakfast session on Sunday, as well as the sessions below.

1-A Special Session on "Adult Congenital Heart Disease: Facing the Challenges" jointly sponsored by the CVDY, Clinical Cardiology Councils and the ISAACD is planned for Monday, November 10, 3.45pm-5pm.

2-A How-to session titled "How to Manage the Adult with Congenital Heart Disease and Heart Failure" is planned for Tuesday, November 11, 7.45-8.45 am.

3-A brown bag lunch panel discussion with audience participation will be held on Monday, November 10, 12 noon titled:
"Certification for physicians caring for ACHD patients".

4-An abstract session focused on Adult CHD is also planned for Tuesday, November 11, 2-5 pm.
